Enamelled set from Beijing - China, Qing dynasty, 18th century
Famille rose coloured, for export to the Middle East via the Silk Road. It includes a large coffee pot decorated with peacocks and chrysanthemums, a box marked with blue orchids on its base and gourds on its bevelled surface, a pair of perfume sprinklers decorated with peaches, cherry trees and peacocks, and what is likely a drinking tazza, scalloped and adorned with peacocks and mantling.
Numerous flaws, needs restoration
H: 32 cm (coffee pot); 31.5 cm (sprinklers); 8 x 11 x 7 cm (box); 12.4 x 16.9 cm (platter); H: 7 cm and D: 11.3 cm (tazza).
