The eagle, 1922
Direct size wood bas relief. Dedicated at upper left on the back (nearly erased) with a nailed-on tag that reads 'Envoi de Madame la Baronne Edmond de Rothschild à M. ..."
Note: This sculpture is one of a series of 6 bas relief, some of which were used to decorate the exterior of the Edouard Autant and Louise Lara hotel in Paris' 17th arrondissement. The couple notably employed Auguste Rodin, Charles Despiau or even Marcel Lenoir and Chana Orloff for decorating.
