Neogothic desk topper, for use as inkwell or match striker.
Bronze, decorated with a Renaissance man. At his sides are a prie-dieu, a chair, two helmets, a stool on wood marquetry forming a floor. A secret drawer opens in the base under the prie-dieu with a bell, the seat of the chair forms a small box, the chair, stool and desk are upholstered in velvet and fringe. The man's head is a seal, the helmets open to reveal small bowls and are detachable for emptying.
