"Annunciation" brooch
Quadrilobed shape, made of silver adorned with the Virgin and a dove in enamel. The back is carved with Art Nouveau patterns. In its original black leather case stamped "Rudolphi, Bd des Capucines 23 Paris". Rudolphi was a great silversmith and jeweller of Danish origin, established in Paris in 1835, who specialised in neo-Gothicism. French work ca. 1853-1865. Hallmark: boar's head.
