Portrait of a woman with clasped hands. Note: A student of Portaels and Stevens, Fernand Toussaint was THE Belgian painter of intimate female portraits and captured the model's loveliness as well as her psychology. This work seems to represent a portrait of a smitten, or pensive woman.
