18th century Ath stoup
Silver on gadrooned pedestal. Christ crucified with crossed feet, beams radiating from the centre of the cross. The ends of the cross are adorned with a floral pattern, and a cartouche containing the acronym "INRI". The Christ is wearing a loincloth but no crown of thorns. Hallmark: GIS shape topped with a cross: Ghislain Joseph Sailly, silversmith in Ath from 1746 to 1784.
