Burchard Precht (1651-1738). Attributed to.
Mirror with parecloses; Wood and gold-plated lead, decorated with a mask, two flares, and a floral vase adorned with a beaded frieze. Missing a piece on the side, damage, upper part warped, and corners need to be reattached.
Provenance: Chateau d’Harzé. Burchard Precht was court sculptor for King Charles XI of Sweden starting in 1682, and notably furnished Drottningholm palace. This model is similar to the frontispiece mirror sold on 24 May 2017 by Sotheby’s New York.
