Béla Kadar (1877-1956)
Woman and children, or modern Madonna; Oil on paperboard. Signed at lower right. Note: Kadar was a Hungarian Jewish painter who rubbed shoulders with all of the German and Russian avant-garde. His style influenced by the "Der Blaue Reiter" trend, combined elements of abstraction, cubism and fauvism. Here we find an abrogation of perspective, chromatic liberty, and form synthesis.
