Louis Thevenet (1874-1930)
Wedding process of the Black Madonna at Hal.; Watercolour. Signed at lower right. Note: A disciple of Auguste Oleffe and member of the "Le labeur" and "Libre Esthétique" circles, the artist exhibited at the Georges Giroux gallery and lived in Uccle during its wealthy period, only to end up in poverty in Hal. This work dates from the latter period.
