Georges Lemmers (1871-1944)
A place in Besse en Chandesse (Auvergne) Oil on canvas. Signed at lower left. Confirmed, situated and titled on the back. A student at the academies of Antwerp and Malines, Lemmers was one of the most iconic representatives of post-impressionism in Belgium, with the luminism and free colour palette which characterize his landscapes.
