Portrait of a man in 17th century dress Oil on canvas signed and dated 'L. Frederic 1879' at lower right. A painter of landscapes, allegories, and religious and social subjects, this is one of the painter's earliest works. A student at the Académie royale des beaux-arts of Brussels from 1871 to 1878, L.
