Portrait of a man with a compass Ink wash and watercolour drawing. Monogrammed M.L. and dated September 1930 at lower right . Langaskens studied decorative arts in Paris and painting in Brussels with Constant Montald. A significant symbolist impact can be found in his work, and an almost expressionist streak, of which this work is a clear illustration, with the powerful expression of the gaze as well as the artisan's hands. 39.5 x 30.5 cm-
