Anna Boch (1848-1936)

Rural landscape Oil on paperboard signed 'A. Boch.' at lower left. Rosalie-Anna Boch, second child of Frédéric Victor, the founder of the Boch ceramic factory, was born in Saint-Vaast on 10 February 1848. She participated in the neo-impressionist movement. A student of Isidore Verheyden, she was influenced by Theo van Rysselberghe, who she met in the avant-garde Brussels circle 'Les Vingt', of which she became a member in 1886.
