Georges Lucien Guyot (1885-1973)
Brown bear
Chalk on paper, signed 'Guyot' at lower right. Born in Paris in 1885, Georges-Lucien Guyot was one of the greatest animal artists of the 20th century. Monkeys, bears, large animals and horses are all evidence of the diversity of his bestiary, of his sharp sense of character portrayal and his constant care to express their feelings and capture their "humanity".
Under glass and matted in a silvery wood frame.
53 x 61 cm
