Gilded bronze medal, cast, by Dropsy, 1937, 574.7g, 115mm, Fame brandishing a laurel wreath facing a naked athlete holding a Victory figure and a mace, INTERNATIONAL. EXHIBITION. ARTS. AND. TECHNIQUES. PARIS. 1937, signature on the exergue H. DROPSY, reverse: the Republic between the Arts and Techniques, standing near two trees, flanked on the left by an altar and on the right by a boat, REPVBLIQVE - FRANÇAISE, attributed in the exergue to Baron Raymond Vaxelaire, Commissioner-General of the Belgian Government, BRONZE hallmark on the edge.

In its original Arthus Bertrand box, with gold lettering 1937 PARIS on the lid.
Enclosed is the official invitation to the inauguration of the Palais de la Ville de Paris by Mr Albert Lebrun, President of the French Republic, as well as two albums containing approximately 90 black-and-white photographs illustrating the interior and exterior of the Belgian Pavilion, his inaugural speech, the press reception, the dinner following the horse races, photos with the President of the French Republic, Albert Lebrun, and the Belgian Minister, Paul van Zeeland, the inauguration of the Belgian Congo Pavilion, King Leopold III at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, etc.
Case showing some wear; medal extremely fine.
