Venus and Cupid
painted and enamelled porcelain plaque, signed lower right. Stamp of the factory on the back.
Note: Alexander Tychagin was appointed master painter at the Imperial Manufactory in Saint Petersburg in 1854. The Hermitage owns three works by the artist. Tychagin is best known for his Easter eggs and his porcelain reproductions of works by great masters.
