Note: Titled "Bronze d'humour" in the monumental version cast in 1914, this model was created as part of the cycle of 15 figures from the "Sides of Light and Shadow" for the Darmstadt artists' colony at the Mathildenhöhe.
Ceramic examples can be found in the collections of the Mathildenhöhe Institute (Darmstadt), the Focke-Museum (Bremen) and the Museum Ostwall (Dortmund), among others.
