The specialists of Haynault Auction house have selected a series of quality works for october's sale. A group of quality bronzes will be presented, with work by the famous French house Barbedienne - such as "Silenus carrying the young Bacchus" - and the "Lovers" by Mathurin Moreaux, cast by the Compagnie des bronzes de Bruxelles. In the field of clocks, we will present two beautiful cathedral clocks, and other quality pieces. One of the highlights of the sale is an important chess board made in the Austrian-Hungarian Empire, in solid silver and vermeil.

As for paintings, we will present some beautiful XVIIth century works, such as a "Christ surrounded by angels" painted by the Antwerp school and a monumental oil on canvas with a "Virgin surrounded by putti"; classical scenes such as a charming painting by the French school of the XVIIIth century representing a mythological scène. One of the highlights is a "Portrait of a lady" that can be attributed to Antoine Wiertz (1806-1865).

This sale will be followed by a non-catalogued auction with smaller paintings and drawings of the XVIIth, XVIIIth and XIXth centuries.
