Mark: JD, initials separated by a kettledrum on a shower stand, this inscribed mark will be affixed from 1928.
Double crab hallmark.
Jean Després (1889-1980) trained as a silversmith. He took part in the revival of goldsmithing by ridding it of its classical ornamentation to create pieces with massive shapes, in silver, pewter, most often silver-plated metal, recognisable by their hammered appearance, and counted the famous Josephine Baker among his customers.
