Oak, with an adjustable back by means of a gilded bronze handle. Cushions reupholstered with pink velvet. Note: A similar model is held at the Glesser House Museum in Chicago. History: the A.H. Davenport company was the furniture manufacturer for the Oval Office of the White House.
