Oil on canvas signed 'Ch. Landelle' at bottom left. Genre and portrait painter, born in Laval (Mayenne). A friend of Théophile Gautier and Gérard de Nerval, Charles Landelle was already attracted to orientalism even before his voyage to Tangier in 1853.
In a moulded giltwood frame.
