Decorative fireplace mantel set depicting the chariot of love
Comprised of a clock and two candelabras. The clock is of embossed, gilded bronze, featuring a skeleton movement, and inscribed in the wheel of the chariot, with Breguet-style oeil-de-perdrix hands on an annular dial. The sea-green marble base features tiny cherubim. Note that this type of clock has many variations, in which the cherub sometimes holds a torch, a whip, or a palm frond.
